12/14/18 - 7/5/04 John McFadden, longtime resident of Briarcliff Manor, NY before retiring to Sebastion, FL died there on July 5. He was 85. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Briarcliff Manor, NY on July 27 at 10 a.m. Mr. McFadden, born in Ossining, NY, was a charter graduate of Mary Immaculate High School in Crotonville, NY. A veteran of World War II, where he served as a Sergeant in the Army, Mr. McFadden was active coaching Ossining Little League, where his teams went as far as the New York State championship game, as well as a member of Briarcliff Manor's St. Theresa's Catholic Church and the local volunteer Fire Department. Upon retirement, Mr. McFadden and his wife, Sylvia, moved to Sebastian, where he was a part-time employee for the Brooklyn Dodgers at their Vero Beach spring training camp. Mr. McFadden is survived by his wife of 60 years; his five children: John J. McFadden II of Wilton, CT; Daniel McFadden of Brighton, MA; Timothy McFadden of North Bennington, VT; and Kevin and Philip McFadden of Briarcliff Manor, NY; as well as 10 grandchildren.
