SARATOGA SPRINGS John J. Hurley, of Saratoga Springs, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2003, peacefully after living a most fulfilling life. John was born on August 24, 1921, raised in Albany and graduated from Christian Brothers Academy. He was united in marriage for 55 years to Angelica Lascaris before her passing in 2002. John and his family moved to Saratoga where they happily lived for the past 37 years. John was a jack of all trades, master of all, he spent many years involved in the field of trucking transportation sales. For several years, he owned and operated Pepper's Market in Saratoga Springs. He was also employed by the City of Saratoga Springs as a fire dispatcher for many years before his retirement. John was also a member of the Saratoga Springs Elks Club Lodge #161, where he thoroughly enjoyed working on bingo night. John is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Margaret L. Hurley; his beloved son, Thomas K. Hurley and his wife Christine of Lakewood, N.Y. and their children, Ryan and his wife Nickki, Shaun and Megan. John is also survived by his granddaughter, Jody L. Holcomb of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and her family. John also leaves behind Marge Przybyla and her children who selflessly gave from their hearts and souls, and reached out with love and compassion. Calling hours will be held from 7-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 24 at Tunison Funeral Home, 1105 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Members of Saratoga Elks Lodge #161 will conduct a Lodge of Sorrow at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
