Casey, John J. III DULUTH, Ga. John J. Casey III, dearly beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at the age of 72 in Duluth. John was born on March 28, 1937, the eldest of six children and raised in Troy, N.Y. He was a bright, mischievous boy, often breaking rules not because he meant to do harm, but rather because he preferred to do things his way. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Casey Jr. and Helen Frank Casey and his brother, Philip T. Casey. He is survived by his former wife, Susan Price; his son, John J. (Cenaide) Casey IV; his daughter, Molly Casey; his daughter, Robin "Terry" (Michael) Parker; his son, Kevin (Josephine) Casey; his son, Timothy (Jeannette) Casey. John's immediate family, Mary Beth (Frank) O'Brien, Sister Constance Casey, SNJM, Frank (Penny) Casey, and Ellen (Thomas) Gorke, mourn his loss. John's eight grandchildren, John, Philip, Maggie, Thomas, Graceson, Emily, Anna, and Christina; and 14 nieces and nephews, will cherish his memory forever. John graduated from Sacred Heart School in Troy, N.Y. and LaSalle Institute. He graduated from Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, Md. with a degree in liberal arts in 1959. He then studied at George Washington University Law School, Washington, DC, receiving his J.D. degree - doctor of law. John served with the FBI in Omaha, Neb. and upon his retirement from the bureau, he and his family relocated in Atlanta, Ga. He then worked in the furniture business until retirement. John was a devoted Catholic and participated in parish ministry. He served as an altar boy, a paper boy and he loved sports. For many years he served as a baseball coach for his children and grandchildren. He was a subway alumnus of the University of Notre Dame and an avid Notre Dame football fan. He had a great passion for the New York Yankees. He loved people and enjoyed conversing with them and keeping up with current local and world news. John liked to talk to whoever about whatever. He loved both his family he grew up with and the family he raised. "He's victor and victim, a star and a clod. But mostly he's Irish....in love with his God." He was a good man. May he rest in peace. John's funeral Mass in celebration of his life was held at the Catholic Church of St. Monica on March 26, 2010. Reverend Jack Durkin, pastor officiated. Entombment followed in Hamilton Mill Memorial Cemetery, Buford, Ga.
