John Henry Latham III, 64, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Sept. 23, 2011, after a year-long battle with leukemia.John was retired from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Department and the Okaloosa County Correctional Institute. He leaves behind a son, Joseph; and sister, Cyd, both of Rhode Island; ex-wife, Linda Latham of Rhode Island, mother of John's children; and Jane Wofford, long-time live-in companion. He was predeceased by daughter, Cheryl, in August 2011.A memorial service in John's honor will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at American Legion, Post 235, Hollywood Boulevard, Fort Walton Beach.
