<!-- FH = Rich & Thomason Funeral and Cremation Service -->John Henry Coleman IIIGreenvilleMr. John Henry "Nookie" Coleman III, age 90, beloved husband, father, and uncle, of Devenger Road, Greenville,SC, passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2011, after several months of declining health. Mr. Coleman, a native of Alamance County, was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a graduate of Alamance County Schools where he played basketball and baseball. He retired from Burlington Industries with a total of 42 years service in Burlington, NC, and Cheraw, SC. Also, he was a former member of Fairview Methodist Church, Elon, NC; First Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC; and East North Street Baptist Church, Greenville, SC. In addition, Mr. Coleman was a former member of Cheraw Country Club. He was an avid golfer and a Clemson fan.Survivors of Mr. Coleman include his wife of almost 65 years, Raymail P. Coleman; a daughter, Lynda Ray Coleman of Greenville, SC; a niece, Deborah Gilmore Huffman and her husband Bill of Winston Salem, NC; a nephew, Gurney Robert "Bobby" Gilmore, Jr., of Burlington; a very special great-niece, Christina Lee Huffman of Greensboro, NC; and a sister-in-law Clydia Jones of Elon. Also, he is survived by many very special extended family members and friends.Mr. Coleman was predeceased by his parents, John Henry and Inez White Coleman, Jr.; a stepmother, Virgie C. Coleman; a sister, Inez Coleman Gilmore and her husband Gurney Robert Gilmore Sr.; and a devoted grand-dog Fitz.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Rev. Jim Rosser will be officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the service at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Burlington. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers who have taken care of Mr. Coleman during the past few months.
