Urban, John H. TROY John H. Urban, 91, of Troy, died Monday, July 23, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Spicka Urban and the husband of Mary Rado Urban. The couple would have celebrated their 67 wedding anniversary on Friday. John was a graduate of St. Casmir's School in Albany and attended Vincention Institute. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater, serving aboard the LST 653. He also served with the Civilian Conservation Corps at Bolton Landing. Prior to his retirement in 1976, he was employed as a railroad police patrolman for the New York Central and Penn Central Railroads. He was also a member of the Polish American Club. Survivors in addition to his wife Mary, include a daughter, M. Barbara Urban of Troy; a sister, Frances Loff of Albany; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law of Helen Vanetti, Edwin Rado, Mildred Rado and John Rado; brother of the late Pauline Dabkowski, Helen O'Toole, Albert Polenski, Katherine Ristau, Julia Urban, Anthony Urban, Andrew Urban and Elizabeth Fitzsimmons and brother-in-law of the late Joseph and Theodore Rado. Special thanks to the staff members at St. Mary's Hospital who cared for John in his last illness, also thanks to the fourth floor staff at Eddy Heritage House for their care. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 at the John H. Clinton Funeral Home, Washington and Park and Third Street, Troy and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Troy.
