Funeral services for John H. Martin II, 88, Brewton Circle, Deltona, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008, at the Greater Union First Baptist Church, 240 South Clara Avenue, DeLand, with Pastor Troy A. Bradley Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until service time. Burial will follow the services at DeLand Memorial Gardens. Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, he and his wife Catherine moved to Florida from New Jersey in the late 1980's. He was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee (emeritus); he was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and a 33rd Degree Mason. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 65 years, Catherine; three children, Salim Abdus-Salaam aka John H. Martin III, Constance Elizabeth Martin-Floyd (Duane), and Herbert M.
