JOHN GLEN GREEN LAKES OF FOUR SEASONS John Glen Green, of Lakes of the Four Seasons, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2013. He was born in Spokane, WA, living and attending schools in the Calumet Region. He joined the Navy during WWII, training at Great Lakes Naval Station and was assigned to the USS Thurston, transporting troops to the European Theatre of war. Later he served in the Pacific Fleet aboard the USS Wasp. While working in Vietnam at the Tan Sun Nhut Air Base, the government requested that he teach welding to the South Vietnamese. His company successfully built water treatment plants all over the world. John accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1946 and is a member of the Lakes of the Four Seasons Church. He belonged to Moody Bible Church in Chicago for many years and supported their many outreaches, especially Pacific Garden Mission. He also avidly supported IFCJs "On Wings of Eagles". John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanette Tosten Green; daughter, Judy (Bruce) Reddy of Hebron; grandchildren: Mathew Sarkey of Hebron, Amy (John) Mathis of Hobart, Julie Sarkey of Hebron; great grandchildren: Madison and Laynee Sarkey, Taylor, Samantha and Jasper Mathis; sisters: Annette Crabb of DeMotte and Sue Morningstar of FL; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters: Irma Jones and Mary Gonska. Funeral service Friday, November 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakes of Four Seasons Church, 9100 E. 109th Ave., Crown Point, Rev. Dan Richwine officiating. Visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
