Born January 20, 1926 in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Stella Hanley. Jack served overseas during World War II and again in the Korean Conflict where he was wounded in action. He left the military in 1959 and settled in Fredericton where he went to work for the Co-op, then the Town of Marysville Police Department, and in 1973 with amalgamation moved to the Public Works Department, City of Fredericton where he retired in 1986. A member of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, past member of the Marysville Wisemans Club, and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15 Marysville. He may have seemed tough and gruff with his players, but to him all were his children and they loved and wanted to be on Jack's team.
