AYLWARD III, JOHNOcala- John Francis "Jack" Aylward III, 62, died December 28, 2013. He was born in Ocala, FL, and moved to St. Simons Island in 1986. Jack attended the University of Florida and served in the U.S. Air Force. His paternal grandmother, Ilene Davidson Aylward, was born in Ware County, GA, and moved to Ocala in the early 1900's. His maternal grandmother, Alice Evans Miller, was a pioneer in medicine and the first woman medical specialist in Florida, where she practiced for many years in West Palm Beach. Jack is survived by his son, William Francis Aylward of St. Simons, his sister, Alice Aylward Blair of Ocala; his sister, Josephine "Jo" Aylward Foster and her husband, E.L. Foster of Ocala, his brother, Robert "Bobby" Aylward of Tampa and St. Simons and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Bill and Laura Aylward, his sister, Judy Aylward Curry, and his brother, Billy Aylward. Jack's life was celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202.
