Obituary of John-F. -Phelan II


John F. Phelan II, of Halifax, lost his battle with drug addiction that he fought for several years, Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. He was 25 years old. He was born in Boston; loving son of David M. and Pamela L. (Alves) Phelan of Halifax. He was the beloved father of Layla M. Phelan of Kingston and devoted brother of David M. Phelan II of Halifax and Thomas J. Phelan of Halifax. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. John attended Silver Lake High School and was a graduate of Middleboro High School. He worked at his familys business, the Kingston Shell Service Station, and was pursuing a career in Real Estate in California. He enjoyed cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends. Calling hours were held Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 3-8 p.m. in the Leighton- MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington St., (at Rte. 58), Hanson. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax, with interment to follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
