MALLEN John F. Mallen III, age 58, of Bridgeport, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at Bridgeport Health Care. Born in Bridgeport, he was the beloved son of the late John F. Mallen Jr. and Elizabeth J. Lynch Mallen. John and his twin sister, Bett were the first babies born in Bridgeport on New Year's Day January 1, 1951. He was a heavy equipment operator and a B.S.A. Motorcycle enthusiast. John touched many lives through his 30 years living with Multiple Sclerosis. Survivors include his twin sister, Elizabeth Farina and her husband, Jack of Bel Air, Md.; brothers, Michael Mallen and his wife, Pat of Bridgeport, Paul Mallen and Peter Mallen both of Trumbull; niece, Keely Donoway and her husband, Bryan; and nephew, Dan Mallen and his wife, Julianna. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. His family wishes to thank the staff at Bridgeport Health Care for all their loving care.
