John Edward Lamont - SAVANNAH - John Edward Lamont, 59, husband of Brenda Kay (Williams) Lamont, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, September 9, 2008 at Memorial Health. John was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on January 29, 1949 to Donald and Charlotte Lamont. He was a veteran of the US Navy. They relocated to Savannah. to raise their family. John work for the Norfolk Southern Railroad for over 30 years. John's joy in life was his family. He coached his sons in their various athletic endeavors. He was involved in the Scottish Community. He and his father where founding members of Post 7 of the Scottish American Military Society where he served as commander. He was a Past President of Coastal Scottish Heritage Society and Past President of The Savannah Scottish Games and Highland Gathering. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; Brenda, four sons, Christian (Celena), Donald (Shelly) James (Michelle), an adopted son Al (Elizabeth) Green; two sisters, Donna Ottmer, Susan (Michael) Knipp. He was also a surrogate father for many others; He leaves behind six grandchildren, Katlyn, Kaleigh, Devin, Marie (Lamont), Celeste and Bailey (Hadel). A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. Please no flowers. Contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
