John E. Schenck III LAMBERTVILLE - John E. Schenck III, 82, of Lambertville, NJ, died on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at his home. Born in Lambertville, NJ, Jack was a lifelong city resident. He was a product control engineer with American Standard working in Ewing and Piscataway. He retired 10 years ago after 45 years of service. Earlier, Jack had worked at Crane Company in Trenton. He was a member and past commodore of the Lambertville Boat Club, played trombone with the Blawenburg Band and was active with the Friends of Mary Sheridan Park. He enjoyed boating and fishing, riding his motorcycle and driving his convertible. Jack was proud of his family's service in the American Revolution. He loved his family and treasured his evening walks with his beloved wife of 63 years, Peggy. Jack was the son of the late John E. Schenck Jr. and Nyda Templeton Schenck and the step-son of the late Carrie Teel Schenck. He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Mullen Schenck; his three daughters, Jeanne Redcay of Lawrenceville and her partner, Dan Utman, of Pennington; Jackie Sansone of Lambertville and Joanie Schenck of Lambertville and her fiance, John Schibel; his grandchildren, Amy (husband Ralph) Parmegiani of New Providence; Anna M. (Isaac Bower) Redcay of Pittsburgh, PA; James Elias Redcay III of Macau, China; Stephanie (Joseph) Brigandi of Glassboro, and Missy (Darek) Merkel of Hampton; his great-grandchildren, Jack, Isla, Dylan and Drew; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville, NJ 08530. Calling hours at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the start of services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad, PO Box 237, Lambertville, NJ 08530.
