Carter, John Dixon Born in Lumpkin, GA on November 11, 1914, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2012 in Tomball, TX. Having varied businesses and careers during his lifetime, his passion was teaching. He was a dedicated teacher at Jones High School in Orlando for many years and was lovingly called "Chief" by his students. Mr. Carter is revered by some of his former students as the person to whom they owe their success. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Hubbard and husband Charles, of Atlanta, GA, and Pat Huff and husband Bill of Tomball, TX; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, 2525 West Church Street, Orlando, FL 32805.
