COKER John Dean Taylor, age 65, of Coker, died Nov. 27, 2009, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Vera Taylor, his son, Earl, and his daughter, Linda.Survivors include his wife, Joyce Faye Taylor; his daughters, Melissa Taylor Miller, Jackie Epperson, and Aleta Taylor; his sons, John Jr. Taylor, Randy Hoggle, Timothy Phillips, Norman Phillips, and Wayne Phillips; his sisters, Dorthy, Shirley, and Louise; his brothers, Gordon Taylor and Bob Taylor; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his pets, Max, Lucky, Lady, Snow, and Taz.Mr. Taylor was a native of Alabama. He retired from B.F. Goodrich. He loved spending time with his family and taught all his kids to hunt and fish. He loved cooking and laughter. He was a great husband, father, "PawPaw", and brother. He will be greatly missed and loved always.Pallbearers will be Ronald Williams, Alex Williams, Wesley Wallace, Ralph Truman, Tony Miller, and Wayne Sullivan.Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Hospice of West Alabama, staff of DCH Cancer Center, and doctors and staff of the VA Hospital.
