In Memory ofJohn David LeeMarch 7, 1928 - March 10, 2011John David Lee, age 83 of Milton, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was born in Glenwood, AL, to the late John S. and Mary Alice Lee. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Milton, FL. David retired from Monsanto after serving in the U.S. Navy.He is preceded in death by his wife, Willa Faye Thames; parents and his brother, James Harold Lee.David is survived by his children, Mary (Calvin) Rutherford, Dr. John (Laura) Lee, and Brenda (Stewart) Kahler; grandchildren, John "Cal" Rutherford, Jessica Rutherford, Rachael Lee, John Stewart Kahler, Tyler Lee, Jacquelyn Kahler; brothers, Gerald (Betty) Lee and Billy (Doris) Lee.David moved from Alabama to Florida with his parents and brothers in 1948 and met his future wife, Willa Faye Thames, at the corner drug store in downtown Milton.David was known by many as "Papaw" Lee. He and Faye were well known for their generosity by welcoming young Navy families into their home. When people came by to visit he would drop all his plans to enjoy their company.Family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm Sunday, March 13, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Milton.
