CRAWFORD III, John (Jock) Portsmouth, of Lake Placid, died November 6, 2003. He was born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania on November 28, 1934. He joined the Navy in 1951 and retired from the Navy as Senior Chief Corpsman in 1971. He was employed by General Dynamic's Division Nuclear Submarine Builder, Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut from 1971 to 1978. He was hired in 1978 by FPL in Miami to work at Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant as Radiation Protection Supervisor retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, American Legion, and Elks Club of Lake Placid. He is survived by his: wife, Nancy Crawford of Lake Placid; son, John P. Crawford IV (wife, Cathy, grandsons John V and Thomas) of North Franklin, Connecticut; son, Master Chief Peter Crawford (wife Kellie, granddaughters Jennifer and Katie) of Pensacola, Florida; son, Robert Crawford (wife Sandy, granddaughters, Angie, Brittany, Kendra, and grandson Robert Jr.); son, Thomas Crawford (granddaughter Genell and grandson Thomas); daughter, Margaret Perales (husband Luis, granddaughters Kelly, Nicole, and Stephany); brother, William Thomas Crawford (wife Pat).
