John Cecil Williams, 86, of 2212 Highway 86, husband of Nan Burns Williams, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Piedmont, he was the son of the late John Berry and Bertha Gresham Williams. He was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, served on the Anderson County School District 1 Board of Trustees, was a member of Piedmont Lions Club, Wren Ruritan Club and Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member and served on the Board of Trustees. His ancestors were founders of the town of Williamston. Surviving are his wife of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca W. and Ronald Adams of Prospect, Ky., and Ramona E. Williams of Piedmont; and three grandchildren, Ethan and Meredith Adams and John Cameron Williams. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Shiloh United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bob Norris and the Rev. Lamar McAbee. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., prior to the service, at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home, P.O.
