->Dunkel, John "Jack"John C. "Jack" Dunkel, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on July 3, 2011. He was 83.Jack was born on November 4, 1927 to the late Clifford A. and Catherine (Dunne) Dunkel. He worked as a postal carrier for the New Rochelle Post Office.He served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 8. He served as Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus Council 339.He is survived by his wife the former Julia "Shelia" T. McKenna whom he married on October 6, 1951 at Blessed Sacrament Church where he served as a Lector. He is also survived by his two daughters Catherine (Robert) Bookless and Patricia (Michael) Broder; his grandchildren: Lindsey and Sean Broder; his brother George (Terry) Dunkel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Clifford.Visiting will be Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday 10:30am at Holy Name Church, New Rochelle. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association.
