Obituary of John-C. Casey


May 14, 2003 John C. Casey, 89, of Apulia died in Iroquois Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 after a long and fulfilling life. Born February 13, 1914, he was the son of Neil and Nellie Curtin Casey. A 1932 graduate of the first graduating class FabiusCentral School. John was a dairy farmer for his entire life. He loved his family, farm and a fine manhattan. John, an Army veteran, served in World War II from 1941-1944. He remained in touch with several of his Army buddies throughout his life. John was an active member of St. Leo's Church, Tully, former officer and member of the Apulia Fire Department, American Legion in Fabius, Fabius and Tully Senior Citizens and the Fabius Historical Society. John is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Evelyn J. Stack; daughter, Donna Bernardini-Carr of Borodino and Marguerite Dunham of Fayetteville; sons, Bill and John Casey of Apulia; a brother, Donald of Apulia; grandchildren, Jennifer Casey Bernardini, Allison Casey Dunham, John and Laura Casey; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services Saturday 10 a.m. in St. Leo's Church. Interment St. Leo's Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at Hartwell Funeral Home, 11 Clinton St., Tully.
