-> Orlando, FL - John Bernard Connor, III, 58, died at home September 1, 2004 in Orlando, Florida after a long illness. He served as Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police for nine years at Florida Atlantic University; 13 years at Northern Kentucky University and five years at the Medical College of Georgia. Mr. Connor attended Benedictine Military School prior to graduating from the University of Georgia where he also received an MBA. He also graduated from the FBI Academy and received many awards from Public Safety and National Police Associations. He is survived by his wife, Marian B. Connor, daughter, Carrie Gielow, son, Brian Connor, all of Orlando, FL; son, Michael Connor, Tampa, FL; father, Col. John B. Connor, USAF (Ret), Savannah; brother, Dr. Stephen B. Connor, Los Angeles, CA; sister, Coral A. Connor, Bluffton, SC; granddaughter, Presley Shay Gielow, Orlando, FL.
