LEE, JOHN BARNSDALLJohn Barnsdall Lee, a lifelong resident of Pleasantville, died on December 16, 2004. He was 89. Mr. Lee was born on May 30, 1915 in Pleasantville to Joseph Day and Abby Howell Lee. In 1934, he graduated from Pleasantville High School. He then attended the University of Virginia, graduating in 1938 with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. John married Ruth Wilcox on February 23, 1943 in San Francisco, CA. John was a logistics executive for G.P.L. - Singer. He was with the company for 16 years before retiring in 1984. Mr. Lee served in the Army from 1940 to 1945, attaining the rank of Captain. He served in the Pacific Theater. Locally, John was a member of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church. He will be remembered for his love of sailing. Mr. Lee is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth L. Fornal of East Greenwich, RI; his son, John B. Lee, Jr. of Brewster, NY; his sister, Maryjoe Lee Crandall of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Besides his wife, Ruth, Mr. Lee is predeceased by his brothers: J.D. Lee, Jr., W. Howell Lee, Richard C. Lee and Philip Lee and his sister, Abigail L. Johnson. Mr. Lee's Services were private.
