John-B. Gilman, born in 1917, spouse of Harriet-Barlow Gilman, father of Colo, Mary and Jack, died on September 3, 2012 at 95 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
WALLINGFORD - John B. Gilman, 95, formerly of Wallingford, died Sept. 3, 2012, at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colo. He was a World War II veteran, serving as an ammunition supply officer in the U.S. and the Philippines. He was a member of Chipman Lodge #52 F&AM in Wallingford, a former member of the Congregational Church where he served on the business committee, and a Life Boy Scout. He also belonged to the Community Church, United Church of Christ, in Vero Beach, Fla. Mr. Gilman was an avid golfer who made two holes-in-one at Rutland Country Club and, again, at the Sebastian, Fla., golf course men's club. He also enjoyed playing the piano, especially for his wife. Survivors include son Jack Gilman, daughter Mary Gilman of Centennial, Colo., several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Harriet Barlow Gilman, in 2007. The memorial service will be held at a later date at The Village, Christian Living Community, 4751 East Costilla Ave., Centennial, Colo., as will burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Stockbridge, Vt.
