He was born January 1, 1936, to Robert and Ethel (Hatch) Ames in Boston, Mass., and had been a resident of Lorida since 1989, coming from Miami, Fla. He was employed in sales, was a member of First Baptist Church of Lorida and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. Ames of Lorida; daughter, Brittany Ames; son, Jonathan Ames, both of Lorida; and sisters, Gloria Bosworth of Onset, Mass., and Rosemary Potts of Falmouth, Mass. Memorial services will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Lorida.
