Erickson, John Allan RENSSELAERVILLE John Allan "Leif" Erickson was born in Rensselaerville and went home on December 15, 2014 in Albany. He was a hard-working, dedicated, loyal father, grandfather, companion and co-worker. His life journey from working the farm, proudly serving in the U.S. Army, and owning various businesses was experienced by many. A master bulldozer operator, a finesse truck driver, an avid race car fan; closely following Billy Decker and crew, only touched upon where and how he interacted with others. He was preceded in death by his Swedish immigrant parents, Hjalmar and Beata Erickson; brother Robert Erickson, and sisters, Norma Erickson and Hazel Wood. Survived by his sister, Jean Coburn; son Neal Erickson; daughters, Yvonne Carr and Janine Haynes; grandchildren, Hans Remmers, Michael Carr, Dana Erickson and Erica and Colleen Haynes, and his beloved and admired Reddhead, Marie Tucker, and Cuddles, his white, furry, four-legged companion. Respecting Leif's request: there will not be a service, but he would like you all to keep on truckin, celebrate life and spend time together and finally "You know, whereever you go, there you are, but you can't get there from here."
