WILLIAMS, John Alexander. On Monday February 21, 2005 at the Legardeur Hospital after a brief illness, Alex was known to many in the marine community in Montreal and for many years was president of Marpipe. Born in Swansea in 1930, Alex came to Canada in 1960 as a member of the staff of British Petroleum. From there he moved onto Vickers, leaving in 1982 to form Marpipe. He was predeceased in 2000 by Beryl, his wife of almost 50 years. He will be greatly missed by his son Andrew (Nadia), his family in Wales and England, his golfing partners and his many friends here in Montreal and New York. A service will be held on February 28, 2005 at the Centre Funeraire Cote-des-Neiges, 4525 chemin Cote-des-Neiges at 11 a.m., thence to Notre-Dames-des-Neiges Cemetery for burial.
