Joel Edward Carter, 69, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.He was a member of Big Spring Methodist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel L. and Anna Mae Carter; and two sisters, Jane Lenhart and Joann Carter.He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carter of Elizabethtown; a son, Joel A. Carter of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Belinda Carter of Elizabethtown, Deborah and Kenneth Boles of Big Spring and Greta and Dale Mull of Hickory, N.C.; a sister, Jean Beahm of Rineyville; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.The funeral is at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. Robert Wayne Daughtery officiating. Burial follows in Pleasant View Methodist Church Cemetery in Rineyville.Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continues at noon Sunday at the funeral home.
