Joe Burriss Stewart, 70, of 114 Bent Creek Drive, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006. Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Julius Loyd and Daisy Lou McClain Stewart. Mr. Stewart served in the U.S. Army and retired from Southern Weaving. He was a member of Agape Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Shirley Ann Morgan Stewart of the home; sons, Ronnie Stewart and wife, Tammie, of Pelzer, and Tommy Stewart and wife, Lori, of Greer; a sister, Juanita Monroe of La France; brothers, Odis Stewart of Anderson and Arthur Lee Stewart of Sevierville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Carrie Rochester, Morgan Stewart, Sally and Melissa Jones; a grandson, Joel Stewart; and a great-granddaughter, Jaida Rochester. He was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Deanne Stewart Jones, and a brother, Wallace Stewart. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at the residence.
