Joe Edward Smith, 71, of 702-B White Horse Road, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at 183 Barksdale Road in Fountain Inn.Born in Ashley, Miss., the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Pruitt Smith, he was employed as a construction supervisor. Surviving is one daughter, Cassandra Smith of Mauldin; four sons, James (Phyllis) Smith of Laurens, Lewis (Toni) Polk, Clifton Polk and Howard Polk all of Greenville; one sister, Ruby Anderson of Memphis, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.Funeral services: Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary, Inc. with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family is at 183 Barksdale Road, Fountain Inn.
