WILLIAMS, JOE LEE, ELDERElder Joe Lee Williams, age 58, passed away Jan. 23, 2009 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Elder Williams was a member of Old Town Church of God In Christ, and President of the Fifth Sunday Union; he was a graduate of A.L. Mebane High School, class of 1968, and Webster College. Elder Williams is survived by his wife; Lillie Williams, Alachua, FL; children: Joe Williams, III, Maria Walker, Sharrae Williams, Rachel Williams, Latesha Williams, Stephanie Williams, Mykayla Perry, all of Alachua, FL; mother; Eva Mae Thomas, Ft. Myers, FL; brothers: Dr. D. R. Williams, Clifford Williams, David Williams, all of Gainesville, FL, and Otis Thomas, Tampa, FL; sisters: Thelma Hunter, Flora Thomas, both of Ft. Myers, FL, Delores Black, Mary McLendon, both of Houston, TX, Clara Porche, Andrea Gibson, both of Tampa, FL, Amy Williams, Gainesville, FL; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services for Elder Williams will be held, 11am, Sat., Jan. 31, 2009 at Williams Temple Church of God In Christ; Dr. D. R. Williams, Pastor, Elder Lowell T. James, Eulogist; burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery, Alachua, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation: Chestnut Memorial Chapel, Fri., Jan. 30, 2009 from 2-4:30pm; and from 6-8pm at Westside Church of God In Christ, Alachua, FL. Elder Williams will repose at Williams Temple on Sat., from 10am until the hour of service; there will be no viewing following the eulogy.
