Joe Earl Johnson CHESNEE, SC-- Joe Earl Johnson, 62, husband of Kristy Johnson, of 1082 E. Oconee St., died Monday March 11, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born June 30, 1950 in Cherokee County, he was a son of Eula Mae Ruppe Johnson of Chesnee and the late George W. Johnson. He was a former truck driver and a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are daughters, Courtney Elizabeth Johnson of Boiling Springs, Sarah Anne Johnson and Emily Rebecca Johnson both of Chesnee; sister, Linda LeMaster of Gaffney; brother, Gerald Johnson of Chesnee; grandchildren, Gaige Brown, Savannah Brown, Kayne Alexander and Kai Copeland. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Rebecca Elizabeth "Libby" Johnson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Chesnee with the Revs. Thomas Hipps and Anthony Hipps officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
