Joe Ann Carter Joe Ann Carter, 70, a retired chef for the military, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004. She is survived by her former husband and devoted friend, Chief Master Sgt. Willie S. Carter of Fort Walton Beach. The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. EST today at the chapel of Strong & Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139).Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. EST today at 1119 Bonnie Drive (850-576-9090). She was born in Moundville, Ala., and lived in Tallahassee for several years. She was a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, National Women's Bowling Association, International Women Bowling Association, International Furrier Model and National Professional Culinary Association.Other survivors include five sons, Willie S. Carter Jr. of Puerto Rico, Pierre A. Carter of Orlando, Daryl A. Carter and Victor G. Carter, both of Las Vegas and Eric A. Carter of Talladega, Ala.; four daughters, Buenita Carter Lee (and husband Eddie) of Tallahassee, Myoushi Carter Jones (and husband Daryl) of Miami, Giovanna T. Alston of Riverdale, Ga., and Kenesha Carter Slater (and husband Clester) of Fort Irwine, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
