Graveside service for Joe Allen Johnson, 59, of Decatur will be today, Jan. 9, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Elder officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation was at his residence, 1816 Fitzgerald Drive, S.W., Monday afternoon and evening, and will be today from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Joe, who departed this earth Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Moulton to Chester Johnson and Ava Stephenson Johnson. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends. Survivors include one son, Jonathan A. Johnson and his wife, Renee, of Killen; his mother, Ava S. Johnson of Decatur; two grandchildren, Ben Johnson and Katie Johnson; one sister, Chesterleene Pike and her husband, Raymond, of Decatur; one niece, Amy Pike; and one nephew, Todd Pike and his wife, Wendy. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley.
