SMITH, Joanne Lee (nee Swanson) May 24, 1947 September 28, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Lee Smith (nee Swanson), an angel on Earth. This loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Rob, son Kevin (Claire), daughter Deidre, twin sister Carol (Larry), brother Jim (Sherry), nieces and nephews Shauna, Stacey, Riley, Scott and Karen, and grandchildren Alek, Miki, Lena and Morgan. Also counted as immediate family are Lee and Kevin and their two children, Jordana and Callum. Joanne was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and, as a young woman, traveled out to Vancouver Island which she has called home ever since. She was a very loving, caring, selfless woman, who touched many lives along the way. A celebration of her life will be held at the Christian Reform Church, 930 Trunk Road in Duncan, BC on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM. A tea will follow at the same location.
