SMITH, Joan (nee Storey) March 7, 1921 May 4, 2009 Loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Predeceased by her husband John and son-in-law Tom; survived by son Mike (Debbie), daughters Penny (Bob), Debby (Mike) and Chris as well as nine grandchildren, Kevin, Kim, Kelly, Kari, Kyle, Teri, Colin, Carly, Caitlin; and seven great-grandchildren, Casey, Jessica, Mya, Makenna, Kadin, Falyn, and Bryce. Joan was born in Maryport, England and moved at an early age to High Prairie, Alberta. She served with the RCAF in Guelph where she met the love of her life, John. Joan's family was her world and she loved having family gatherings. She was also an avid golfer at Prospect Lake golf course. She will be remembered for her determination, generosity and most of all her positive attitude. Many thanks to the care and special attention given by the nursing staff of Ward D, 6th floor, Victoria General Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held at 309 Cadillac Avenue on May 22 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory can be made to your favourite charity. 540665
