STEVENSON, Joan Dorine November 22, 1935 - April 3, 2014With her devoted husband Doug, and family at her side, we announce the passing of Joan Stevenson at the age of 78. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug of 58 years, daughters Shelley (Bill), Karen (David), Heather (Mark) and son Graham (Colleen). She has nine grandchildren; Brianne, Megan, Eric, Kristen, Daikota, Vaughn, Triton, Lindsay and Brandon. She was predeceased by her parents Allan and Miriam and her brother Don. Joan had a large capacity for loving and caring and a joyful zest for life that brought much happiness to everyone she knew. The family is sincerely grateful to the staff of the Misericordia Hospital for her short stay and to all her aquasize friends at the Coronation Pool. A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Howard & McBride Westlawn Funeral Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue NW., Edmonton, AB, T6G 1Z2 or to a charity of your choice.
