Joan M. (DiBona) Pieroni of Braintree, formerly of Quincy and Weymouth, passed away unexpectedly at home February 12, 2015, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Francis J. Frank Pieroni, she was the loving mother of Joanne F. Pieroni of Braintree, Michael J. Pieroni and his wife Susan of Holliston, David A. Pieroni of Boston and Stephen R. Pieroni of Weymouth. Devoted sister of Alan DiBona and his wife Faith of Duxbury and the late Joel DiBona. Also survived by 4 nephews Danny, Christopher, Shane and Kevin. Joan was born and raised in Weymouth and had lived in Braintree since 1977. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1951 and attended Katherine Gibbs Business School, Boston. From 1954-59 Joan worked as a secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigation where she met her husband. She was a faithful communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring mother. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
