Lee, Joan P.Feb. 29, 1932 - Jun. 19, 2014 Joan P. Lee, 82, of Venice, FL passed away June 19, 2014. She was born February 29, 1932 in Gilman, IL to Lial and Mary Pollock. Joan moved to this area in 1981 from Dayton, OH. She was a Home Economics teacher as well as a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family. Joan and her husband Robert were proud to have founded the Venice Boys & Girls Club which honored them by naming the club, the Robert and Joan Lee Club. Joan was also a member of the Venice-Nokomis Elks Lodge #1854. She is survived by her children, Bobby (Sally) Lawrence of Venice, FL and Gayle (Anthony) Egoville of North Port, FL; grandchildren, Jori and Tiffany Lawrence, Morgan Hills, Alexis and Sydney Egoville. She was predeceased by her daughter Shelly VanHoff in 1987. The family will receive friends from 10:00am till 11:00am, Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home. Joan will be laid to rest at the Gilman Cemetery in Gilman, IL.
