TOBIN, Joan Marilyn Ann - It is with great sorrow that the family of Joan Tobin announces her peaceful passing at home surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, March 24, 2008 after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. Left with a lifetime of cherished memories are Joan's beloved husband Walter and her children James Tobin and his wife Christine and Lori Huber and her husband Daniel. Joan will be sadly missed by her precious three grandchildren, Kelsie, Connor and Jacob. Joan is survived by her sisters-in-law, Madeleine (Frank) Vaillancourt, Mary (Ken) McElheran, Bernice (Jack) Ryan, Rose Ryan (late Teddy), Betty Tobin and brothers-in-law Edward (Geraldine) Tobin, and Robert Bell; her aunt Mae Doyle and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joan is predeceased by her parents Walter and Helen Woods and by her sister Shirley Hunt. Family and friends will be received at the Township Chapel of the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES, 435 Davis Drive (Centennial Dr and Taylor Kidd Blvd) on Tuesday, March 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in Our Chapel in Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the UHKF Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association. 11027705
