April 2, 1925 - September 17, 2011 Joan passed away peacefully at Arbutus Care Center, her home for 10 years, Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children: Patricia (Jeff); Lorraine (John); Michael (Val); Linda (Mick); David (Anne) and William (Demi), 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was born in Blackpool, England and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 living in Regina, Burnaby and the West End where English Bay reminded her of England. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her ruthlessness at Scrabble, playing bingo, and telling stories about her life. She enjoyed years of fun at Birch Bay Leisure Park.
