Joan-Elizabeth Miller, died on May 2, 1928. Please consult the obituary here:
MILLER _ Joan Elizabeth (Neeves) May 02, 1928 to December 12, 2006. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Joan Miller. Joan was a wonderful, involved Mother to Terri (Gerrit) and Tina, a caring and loving Grandmother to Carly, Todd, Josh and Zack and a great best friend to Nora for 59 years. Joan was also a survivor! She grew up in England during WW II, surviving the Blitz. After the war she moved to Canada and married Johnny Miller. Together they had a happy and full life of travel and adventure. John's business allowed them to live for extended periods in many interesting places including many American States, Morocco, Sumatra and many other countries. Joan enjoyed it all but in 1985, while living in Indonesia, she survived breast cancer. They returned to the West Coast to enjoy their growing family. In 2000 Joan survived John's passing soon after they had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Soon after, she survived a major heart attack and then kidney failure led to peritoneal dialysis. She struggled with diabetes and its effects. Finally, her body gave up surviving so that her soul could join John. She leaves behind hundreds of memories and her older sister Phyllis, nieces Gail and Janet and nephew Barry, many friends and relatives around the world all of whom she loved. We thank the Royal Columbian nurses and staff in the Peritoneal Dialysis Clinic, for your great care and understanding and the staff at Peace Arch Hospital's Emergency and fourth floor. You are all a tribute to your profession. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on December 23, at Terri and Gerrit's home, 12503 23 Ave., South Surrey, between 1:00 to 5:00 p m. We will miss our chats, coffee and Sunday dinners with you Mom! Love you always, Terri, Tina and the gang.
