Joan C. (Egan) Anderson July 11, 2011 Joan C. (Egan) Anderson, 76, of East Syracuse, died on Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late William H. (Herb) and Helen (Kleist) Egan. She was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School and St. Anthony's High School. She had been a Real Estate agent with the William Alan Agency and Prudential 1st Sterling Realty and formerly employed by Dey Brothers. Joan was a communicant and active member of the St. Matthew's Church community, a member and past president of the Women's Guild, and a parish representative of the Bishop's Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC). She was the first president of the Woodland Elementary School PTO and on the advisory board for Adult Continuing Education for ESM School District. She was an Onondaga County Elections Inspector, devoted SU sports fan and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack (2000); brothers: William H. (Herb) Egan Jr., Donald, Thomas, and Robert Egan; and a sister, Shirley Miller. She is survived by her son, Daniel of East Syracuse; daughters, Jacqueline (Kevin) Sullivan of Springfield, VA, Julie A. (Mark Bolan) Anderson of East Syracuse; two granddaughters, Jenna and Jillian Anderson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews including, Mary Jean and Jay Piraino and William H. "Trey" Egan III. Funeral services are Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
