Joan C. Anderson 1940 - 2007 SOUTH HADLEY - Joan Carol Anderson of South Hadley left this crazy, fun-filled world on her 67th birthday, December 13th in the company of her loving family and friends. Joan was born and educated in Holyoke, daughter of the late James and Estelle Russo. Joan continued her education at A.I.C. and H.C.C. Joan retired after a 25-year career with Spalding Sports Worldwide. Joan began her career in the Military Sales Division moving to the purchasing department as a Buyer, to implementing computerized system in the plant's maintenance department, continuing to Senior Buyer. Joan held many positions with various professional associations from hosting trade shows to playing in golf tournaments. Always leaving a "lasting impression" with anyone she met. Joan's personal life was wildly full of interests. Joan would dive into her interests fully and master them, moving on to the next. Her absolute favorites were: fly fishing, canoeing, digital photography, her koi pond (where she hand picked rocks and plants), golf, and an enjoyment of personal computing and web design. To be near Joan meant being near a loving, caring, zany, most interesting lady who had an enormous appetite for life, laughter and fun. Her favorite saying was: "I WANNA BOUNCE AND PLAY". Joan was quite an inspiration to everyone. Joan had a sense of humor that wouldn't quit. Joan had a love of animals of all types, raccoons, skunks, dogs (big and small), all roamed her floors at one time or another. Community organizations were important in Joan's life. Joan helped plan and organize West Springfield's 1974 Bicentennial Celebration & created West Springfield's Town Common Flea Market, 30 years later and still going strong. Joan is survived by her husband, Jon J. Kinsley who was not only her "soul-mate" but also her favorite "play-mate" and best friend. Together they had a wonderful life. Jon never knew what to expect. Joan also leaves her cherished grandson, Jay C. Anderson, her son, Lee J. Anderson, her daughter-in-law, Dr. Christine D. Baker of Northampton, her lifelong friends/traveling companions, Rick Rudzik and Denise Dwyer of FL and too many friends to mention. Joan also leaves her devoted Maltese, "Daisy". In lieu of flowers a Trust Fund has been set-up in Joan's memory for her grandson Jay's education. Donations to be made to the Jay Anderson Benefit Fund, c/o Bank of America, 638 Memorial Dr., Chicopee, MA 01020. A Memorial Service is to be held at St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee on December 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. The Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee is in charge of the arrangements.
