HARWICH PORT, Mass. — Joan Marie Anderson of Harwich Port, Mass., and Tierra Verde, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in St. Petersburg, Fla.Born March 7, 1921 in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of John and Georgina Hagerty. On Feb. 26, 1944, she married Joseph E. Anderson, MD, who predeceased her Oct. 20, 2000. Mrs. Anderson was a 1938 graduate of Holy Angels Academy of Buffalo and attended the State Teachers College of Buffalo. She was an honorary member of the First Order of St. Francis and was a Lady Commander of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher. She was a singer and a poet who particularly loved the opera, gourmet food and cooking, crossword puzzles and antiques. She is survived by one brother, one sister and her 11 children including, Patricia (Dennis) Campbell of Dover, N.H. She will be greatly missed by her 27 grandchildren including, Timothy, Michael and Thomas Campbell of Dover, N.H., and her 12 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 25 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the St. Bonaventure University Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel.
