ANDERSON, Joan It is with great sadness that the family announces the loss of Joan Anderson who died suddenly on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. Joan is deeply missed by her daughter Laurel, sister Day and her husband Steven LePoole, and brother Guy and his wife Dominique Wilson. Joan was beloved by her niece Wendy and husband Drew, nephew Dirk and his wife Esther, and nieces Danielle and Madeleine. Joan will also be missed by many relatives, close cousins and friends. Born and raised in Calgary, Joan moved to Edmonton in 1974. She was involved with families whose children had developmental disabilities. Joan began at the Glenrose Hospital, and for the past 25 years was an in-home consultant with the Edmonton Early Intervention program. She was much loved by the families she helped. The joy of Joan's life was her daughter Laurel. With a dog and two cats, they have made a happy family for the past 15 years. They enjoyed summers at Sylvan Lake and various holidays at Disneyland and in Mexico. A Memorial Service celebrating Joan's life will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Appel Funeral Home, Central Memorial Chapel, 10530 - 116 Street, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name may be made to the Edmonton Early Intervention Program (483-1744). Appel Funeral Home/Central Memorial Chapel (780) 454-8088.
