HALL, JoAnn JoAnn Sexton Nixon Hall, 71, of Atlanta, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, June 13th. She was a widow twice to Oras Leon Nixon and Robert L. Hall, respectively. Her mother, Lillian Rash of Summerville, Ga. and father, Abner D. Sexton of Chesapeake, Va. preceded her in death. She had two brothers, Danny Sexton of Smithfield, VA and David Sexton of Baltimore, Md. Her only sister, Jewell Day of Summerville, Ga., was at the Pearly Gates waiting for her as well. She left two sons behind, Jonathan Todd Nixon of Atlanta, Ga. and Timothy L. Nixon of Chatsworth, Ga. She had multiple grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She had thousands of children in her life because she was an elementary school teacher for 38 years. She graduated from Old Dominion University and Berry College with a Master's degree in Education. She taught at many schools over the years but retired from Atlanta Public School system in 2005. She was a second generation teacher with a passion for underprivileged children. Of course, her foremost love was her family and she was very loved as well. The family will be accepting friends for visitation on Monday, June 16th at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel in Chesapeake, Va. from 6 to 8 pm. The graveside will be on Tuesday, June 17th at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake, Va. at 11 am. Friends of the family are welcome to attend.
