Obituary of Joan Wright


Wright, Joan ALBANY Joan (Shaw) Wright died peacefully Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. She was with her children and long-time companion Roccie Strazza. Joan was born in Schenectady and was a lifelong area resident. She went to Nott Terrace High School and then to Mildred Elley Business School. Joan worked in the staffing industry in her professional life. For more than 20 years she has co-owned Sheber/Wright Inc., a business that she co-founded. Joan was a family oriented person. She loved to spend time with all of her family and her grandchildren always held a special place in her heart. She was an avid baseball and football fan. Joan enjoyed weekend trips with Roccie and dining out at area restaurants. In addition to Roccie, Joan is survived by her children, Leslie (Michael) Rosenberg and Matt (Ellen) Wright; her grandchildren, Patrick, Jack and Ryan Wright; her siblings, Kathy Fischer and her companion Bob Silverman, Linda and Rick Height and Chuck and Amy Shaw. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
