Jo Leona Smith Jo Leona Smith, 49, died at her residence Sept. 21, 2003. She was born May 22, 1954 in Albuquerque. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her daughter Leigh Dawn Smith in 1975. Survivors include her husband, David Smith of Tucumcari; two daughters Bonnie Smith and Amanda Smith both of Tucumcari; three brothers, Ben Thurmond and Howard Thurmond both of Albuquerque and Fred Thurmond of Dallas, Texas; sister, Kay McDougall of Los Lunas and grand daughter Khaeden Cox of Tucumcari. A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at St. Anne's Catholic Church. A mass of resurrection will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr Leo Padget will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot of the Anniston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Smith, Bob Smith, Joe Smith Ernest Dominguez, Anthony Cordova, Todd Osborn, Ben Thurmond and Fred Thurmond.
