-> McRae Ð Jewell Thigpin Davis, 92, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005. A native of Treutlen County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Willie Virgil and Laura Greenway Thigpin. She was a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club and the McRae United Methodist Church, and was retired as city clerk for the city of McRae. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, John Gross Davis, Sr., and her step-mother, Rosa Mae Claxton Thigpin. Survivors include her sisters, Willie V Parrish of Macon and Annie Williams of Springfield, VA; step-son, John G. Davis, Jr. of Wheeler County; nieces and nephews, Don Yancey of Gainesville, FL, Leita Stevens of Savannah, Billy B. Williams of Springfield, VA, Richard Parrish of Savannah, Gail P. Jones of Macon, Danny Parrish of Forsyth, and Lynelle Tuten of Savannah; and step-grandchildren, Deanna Carmichael and Courtney Ray. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Vaughn Funeral Home. Funeral servic es will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005 at McRae United Methodist Church.
